GWiCE sponsors - RMI, GWNet, EWiEn, Think Policy, Purpose Hive, EnergyHaus Africa

Program Overview

RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA) is excited to announce the launch of its Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship — a new initiative designed to catalyze a more inclusive and equitable clean energy workforce.

Leveraging the ETA’s facilitation and design expertise, strategic partnerships, and tailored curriculum, the Fellowship empowers women leaders driving change in their communities, strengthens their networks, and supports them in more rapidly advancing clean energy projects and more inclusive organizational practices — contributing to the broader impact of an equitable, gender-inclusive and fast-tracked energy transition.

The Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship’s inaugural cohort of fifty fellows started in July 2025 in Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Zambia, all Africa Minigrids Program participating countries, and concluded in December 2025. The second cohort of the Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship kicked off in November 2025 in Indonesia and concludes June 2026. The third GWiCE cohort runs across Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zambia, Madagascar, Comoros, South Africa, and Kenya between June and October 2026.
